I'm a historical gamer myself. I particularly like making DBA armies and playing boards, and right now am hard at work (heh) on my Corinthian Greek 25mm army for Warhammer Ancients. However, I am not what you would call a rigidly accurate painter when I do my own work--I don't put a lot of thought into "what dye colors would have been available to the average Welsh peasant in 1570?"
I understand, however, that there are many gamers out there who feel quite strongly about the historical accuracy of the paint jobs on their armies, and I can certainly appreciate that desire! I am always happy to paint your army to your specifications; all you have to do is tell me what you want. Or, better yet--show me! Frequently clients will loan me an Osprey book along with their commission, and point to the color plates and say, "This is how they need to look." So feel free to be as picky as you like about historical accuracy, as long as you let me know about it before I start painting! |
